Texty (“the App”) is a macOS application designed to provide a fast and simple text editing experience. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Texty handles user data.

1. Data Collection

Texty does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

Specifically:

• No personal information is collected
• No usage analytics are collected
• No crash reports are sent to external servers
• No tracking technologies are used

All text processing and editing is performed locally on your device.

2. On-Device Processing & Apple AI Tools

Texty does not collect, process, or transmit any of your data on its own. All text editing and processing is performed locally on your device.

However, Texty's text editor supports macOS system-level features, including Apple's Writing Tools (Apple Intelligence). If you choose to use these AI-powered writing features within Texty, please be aware of the following:

• Some Apple Intelligence features process your text on-device using Apple's own models
• For more advanced requests, Apple may process your text on Apple's Private Cloud Compute (PCC) servers, which are designed with strong privacy protections
• If Apple integrates third-party AI services (such as ChatGPT by OpenAI), and you choose to use those features, your text editor content may be shared with the respective third-party AI provider through Apple

Important: These AI features are provided and managed entirely by Apple and/or third-party AI providers — not by Texty. Texty itself does not send, access, or store any of your content. The decision to use Apple's AI tools and any associated third-party AI services is entirely yours, and you can control these features through your macOS System Settings.

Texty does not provide its own AI services and does not operate any backend or cloud infrastructure.

3. Data Storage

Texty stores data only locally on your device, including:

• Open documents
• Application state (such as open tabs and cursor positions)

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to the developer.

4. Third-Party Services

Texty does not use:

• Third-party analytics services
• Advertising networks
• Tracking SDKs
• Cloud storage providers

The App operates fully offline, except for standard App Store purchase validation handled by Apple.

5. Payments and Free Trial

Texty is offered with a 7-day free trial, after which a one-time lifetime purchase is required.

• All payments are processed securely by Apple
• Texty does not receive or store any payment or billing information
• Purchase and subscription status are managed entirely by the App Store

6. Children’s Privacy

Texty does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Because no data is collected at all, there is no risk of exposure of personal information.

7. Data Sharing

Texty itself does not share any data with third parties.

However, if you use Apple's Writing Tools (Apple Intelligence) within the text editor, your content may be processed by Apple and, in some cases, by third-party AI providers (such as ChatGPT) that Apple integrates into its services. This data sharing is initiated and managed by Apple's operating system — not by Texty. Please review Apple's privacy documentation for details on how your data is handled in these scenarios.

8. Security

Since Texty does not collect or transmit data, there is no external data storage to secure.

All operations are performed locally within the macOS sandbox environment.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if the App’s functionality changes.

If updates are made, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
